John Frampton był kupcem, który osiedlił się w Hiszpanii. Został uwięziony przez inkwizycję i poddany torturom, następnie uciekł w 1567 roku przez Kadyks. W następnych latach był tłumaczem z języka hiszpańskiego, do jego prac należą:
