Etymologia edytuj
Greckie θρυον thruon – trzcina; φιλος philos – miłośnik. Ptaki z tej grupy zostały wcześniej ujęte w rodzaju Thryothorus, ale S.F. Baird w 1864 roku był zmuszony wprowadzić nową nazwę, aby je rozdzielić. Nazwa ta odzwierciedla tę relację, a nie preferowane siedlisko[6].
Podział systematyczny edytuj
Takson wyodrębniony z Thryothorus[7][8][9][10]. Do rodzaju należą następujące gatunki[11]:
- Thryophilus pleurostictus – pręgostrzyżyk czarnoplamy
- Thryophilus rufalbus – pręgostrzyżyk rdzawy
- Thryophilus sernai[10] – pręgostrzyżyk cynamonowy
- Thryophilus nicefori – pręgostrzyżyk brązowy
- Thryophilus sinaloa – pręgostrzyżyk kreskoszyi
