Chet Atkins, właśc. Chester Burton Atkins (ur. 20 czerwca 1924 w Luttrell[1], zm. 30 czerwca 2001 w Nashville) – amerykański kompozytor i gitarzysta muzyki country, a także producent muzyczny.

Pochodził z farmerskiej rodziny z tradycjami muzycznymi[1]. W okresie dzieciństwa uczył się grać na gitarze i skrzypcach[1]. Przed solową karierą akompaniował popularnym wykonawcom country, m.in. Redowi Foleyowi, Billowi Carlisle oraz grupie The Carter Sisters & Mother Maybelle[1]. Od 1947 nagrywał solowo[1]. O jego płodności twórczej mogą świadczyć m.in. płyty, które nagrał w latach 1952–2001 w wytwórniach RCA i Columbia[1].

Współpracował z wieloma muzykami, m.in. z Elvisem Presleyem, Johnnym Cashem, Markiem Knopflerem, Jerrym Reedem, Tommym Emmanuelem, Waylonem Jenningsem, George’em Bensonem, Tomem Scottem czy The Everly Brothers[1]. Jako mistrz gitary stał się dla wielu młodych muzyków wzorem (m.in. dla Jimiego Hendrixa)[2]. Wywarł ogromny wpływ m.in. na twórczość i styl gry Tommyego Emmanuela oraz Marka Knopflera z grupy Dire Straits. Przez wiele lat pełnił obowiązki kierownika artystycznego wytwórni RCA Records[1]. W 1974 opublikował książkę autobiograficzną pt. Country Gentleman[1].

W 2002 został wprowadzony do Rock and Roll Hall of Fame[3].

Krótkofalowiec, posiadał znak WA4CZD.
