Ialtris: gr. ιαλτος ialtos „wysłany”, od ιαλλω iallō „wysłać, rzucić”^[5].
Darlingtonia: Philip Jackson Darlington Jr. (1904–1983), amerykański entomolog i biogeograf^[3]. Gatunek typowy: Darlingtonia haetiana Cochran, 1935.
