| Opis | A fairly large number of these canteens were integrated as an experiment, along with standard aluminum canteens during WWII. They are not extremely rare. I've been told they were an experiment and the US Army was considering totally replacing aluminum canteens with plastic ones. In fact, during Vietnam, they actually did switch to plastic canteens, although they were larger and shaped different and were not partly transparent as these are. As you know, camel backs have now made canteens obsolete, although a few individuals continue to carry them as a personal preference.M. Bando/Trigger Time |
