Hello to all. In the Galipedia (Wikipedia in Galician language) we are realising a small project to give to know this Galician poet (you could translate part of the english version) that he will be devoted in the Day of the Galician Letters of this year. If somebody wants to help us with this idea, we will appreciate it to him. Greetings to all, --Elisardojm (dyskusja) 14:23, 2 maj 2011 (CEST)

In article Ватага at russian Słownik encyklopedyczny Brockhausa i Efrona you can see
But as I can see in small wata article there is nothing dealing to Sieć rybacka.--Evgen2 (dyskusja) 20:31, 9 maj 2011 (CEST)
- Мне кажется, что Брокгауз с Эфроном напутали - наш авторитетный словарь Брикнера (ХIX в.) не проводит такого значения слова "wata". Но посмотрю ещё в словаре Линде. Пока, Ency (replika?) 09:58, 10 maj 2011 (CEST)

Accident reports in English
edytujKatastrofa polskiego Tu-154 w Smoleńsku currently links to the MAK reports in Russian. These need to be linked no matter what, since they are originally produced in Russian, and Russian is the language of record But should we link to the English versions too? Polish people are more likely to understand the reports in English vs. reports in Russian, so I think the English should also be linked. To my knowledge there is no Polish version of the reports. SuggestBot on plwiki?
edytujHi,
I was approached by Bulwersator on enwiki about SuggestBot. As we're also running on Swedish and Norwegian Wikipedia, it should be possible to run here on plwiki too. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone's interested in seeing that happen? Since I don't speak Polish, I cannot ask on your Village Pump myself, but feel free to forward the question to see if there's interest.
If it turns out there's some interest it might take a few weeks to get it set up for trials, there's a fair amount of data-crunching that's needed to make it work. Cheers, Nettrom (dyskusja) 18:44, 26 lip 2011 (CEST)
- Just a little bump of this thread in case it got missed. Cheers, Nettrom (dyskusja) 17:56, 2 sie 2011 (CEST)
- Sorry for delay, I posted info to normal village pump: Wikipedia:Kawiarenka/Propozycje#SuggestBot -- Bulwersator (dyskusja) 22:50, 2 sie 2011 (CEST)
- No problem! It looks like we have some interest, and it wouldn't surprise me if more people sign up when things start moving. I am quite busy at the moment, but I will start getting things ready, might be a few weeks until we're up and running. Cheers, Nettrom (dyskusja) 16:59, 4 sie 2011 (CEST)
Users interested in this project:
Plik:Flagaluzycgornych.png was originally uploaded to Polish Wikipedia; it was then transferred to English Wikipedia, and finally to Commons. In the meantime, however, an administrator deleted it [1]. As such, even though it says GFDL on commons, we don't have proper attribution for it, so it's a copyright violation. Could someone temporarily undelete it and copy the information to commons? Hint: I like to use CommonsHelper to copy over the information. Magog the Ogre (talk) 06:14, 18 sie 2011 (CEST)

IRL meeting?
edytujHello,
First of all, sorry for not being able to speak Polish :-(
I'm Benjamin, from the French-speaking Wikipedia , Commons and Wikimedia France. Some of you may have seen me in Haifa this summer.
I'm coming to Poland in a few days to attend Creative Commons Global Summit (September 16-18). This is the first time I come to visit this country. I will be in Warsaw for four days (16-19), and then I will visit Krakow and neighbouring areas (20-23).
I would be very happy to meet some of you. I don't know if you're very familiar with this in Poland, but we use to meet together in a bar or restaurant in France. So I hope I can do the same and meet some Polish Wikipedians as well :-)
Thanks in advance for your welcoming.

- Do not worry that you do not know Polish, on this page English is enought. What do you think about visiting Poznan 24-25 Sept. and take part in celebrating the 10th anniversary of Polish Wikipedia? Look at the events page, organisational issues (a little in English) and registration (I'm sorry that these pages are only in Polish). Ency (replika?) 23:01, 14 wrz 2011 (CEST)

Language support group for Polish
edytujThe Wikimedia Foundation has brought together a new team of developers who are dedicated to language support. This team is to support all the languages and consequently it is not realistic to expect that the team members can provide proper support for your language. It is for this reason that we are looking for volunteers who will make up a language support team.
This language support team will be asked to provide us with information about their language. Such information may need to be provided either to us or on a website that we will indicate to you. Another activity will be to test software that will likely have an effect on the running of the MediaWiki software. We are looking for people who clearly identify their ability. Formal knowledge is definitely appreciated.
As much of the activity will be concentrated on translatewiki.net, it will be a plus when team members know how to localise at translatewiki.net. Thanks, Gmeijssen (dyskusja) 11:28, 20 lis 2011 (CET)
Terms of Use update
edytujI apologize that you are receiving this message in English. Please help translate it.
Dear Wikimedians, the Wikimedia Foundation has been discussing changes to its Terms of Use, and the draft of the new version has been revised. The discussion is still ongoing at m:Talk:Terms of use and everyone is invited to join in. Because the new version is not yet in final form, we are not able to present official translations of it, but unofficial translations into several languages have been provided by volunteers (see translation request). Note that these translations are not official and may become outdated as the English version is changed.

My name is Jiozef Szalaj
edytuj- Wątek założony przed: 21:03, 14 gru 2011 (CET)
I am very interested in my polish heritage. My father was a young man at the begining of world war two, he had lost all his family early in the conflict, joined the underground and ended up at Monte Casino battle with the Polish Army and the British 8th Army. Because his home at the end of the war was now in Russian hands and all his known family was killed he decided to demob in Britian, hence my delema not knowing enough about my heritage due to the fact everytime my father reflected back on his memories it was very painful for him, it was hard to see him that way so we refrained in going there, but now I am very curious of the place of my fathers birth, his name is Eddic Stanislaw Szalaj, he had a brother who was a Polish Captain first name Jozef, not sure why I have and I in my first name but cannot change it now. If you or any of your readers could bring some light to the matter it would be most welcome. Best regards to all, Jiozef Szalaj
